Responsibilities The Sr. Payroll and Benefits Specialist will work from our Japan office in Tokyo and leading all duties related to payroll and benefits matters for Japan, seconded Japanese employees to Malaysia, South Korea, and India. While working closely with Employee Experience Team members in the US, you will operate with a high level of independence, coordinating processing with in-country service providers and focusing on improving processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. The crucial duties of this role include, but are not limited to: Payroll: ・Process monthly payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from T&A system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as required ・Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and collaborate with managers and team members to improve payroll and HRIS processes ・Manage Income tax and Inhabitant tax processing ・Resolve employee inquiries with a high level of customer service to employees ・Oversee the Year-end adjustment process ・Distribute appropriate Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting ・Prepares, conducts, and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee ・Work closely with accounting for quarterly and year-end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.). ・APAC Payroll reconciliation/General Ledger Audit ・Lead and implement all Payroll and Benefit related projects Benefits: ・Administer all employee benefit programs for APAC including new hires and leavers ・Coordinates and conducts the new employee onboarding process ・Manage Social Insurance and Labor Insurance ・Addresses benefit inquiries to ensure excellent support to employees. ・Supervise the Defined Contribution pension plan (Japan and S. Korea) ・Life Insurance employee enrollments/un-enrollment ・Labor management (organizing employee medical check-ups, time off/attendance management, medical service for international assignees, etc.) ・Respond to all unemployment and worker compensation claims to maintain compliance ・Administrate the time and attendance system ・Paid/unpaid leave management ・Fulfills all governmental regulatory mandates and ensures filings are performed as required ・Maintains contact with employees and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees ・Reconciles billings and submits approved invoices for payment ・Support full cycle of VISA update for new joiner and existing employees. 【必須(MUST)】 Qualifications:・Proven experience, 3-years or more, in full cycle procedures for Japan entity in a multinational company ・Experience with South Korea and India payroll and benefits preferred ・Fluent in Japanese and communication in business-level English is required. ・Experience with payroll/benefits operations in other Asian countries a plus ・Ability to research, plan and implement regular processes independently ・Provide sound business decisions and recommendations during critical situations ・Approach issues with consideration of other perspectives; focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging ・Eager to learn and drive efficiency ・Excellent organization and time-management skills; remain calm under pressure ・Qualifications must be demonstrated during the probation period. Physical Requirements: Working out of the Tokyo, Japan office 3-4 times a week according to our “Global Hybrid Working Policy.” |
