The Head of Technology Center will lead the strategic and operational direction of the Technology Center in our Japanese division.

This role is pivotal in driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards in advance development, designing, validation & services, product- and project-management.

Currently, the successful candidate will oversee five key areas, Advance Development, Designing, Validation/Services and Product-/Project Management.

Project-Management will be led by her/himself, and she/he will be responsible for aligning these areas with the company's global technology strategy.

■Leadership & Management:

・Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the managers of the Advanced Development, Designing, Validation & Services and Product Management departments.

・Lead the onsite division Project Management.

・Develop and implement a cohesive strategy that aligns with the company's technology goals and objectives.

・Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Technology Center.

■Advance Development:

・Continuous monitoring of new and innovative technologies internally and incorporated with external partners adoptable to new products in line the company roadmap

・New ways of design-thinking, agile-methods and similar ways of procedures will be used and reflected

・Managing established “technology-projects”, incorporated with the global process/ -committees to ensure the in-time result, linked to product-projects

■ Designing:

・Ensure the development of cutting-edge power tool designs that meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.

・Collaborate with the product development team to translate design concepts into practical, manufacturable products.

・Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and integrate best practices into the design process.

■Validation & Services:

・Oversee the validation processes to ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

・Implement robust testing protocols and manage service operations to support product performance post-launch.

・Address any product issues efficiently to maintain customer satisfaction and trust.

■Product Management:

・Driving the future product roadmap in a global matrix-organization with local product managers, continuous review of the local SBU Asia product portfolio and drive the PM activities within ongoing new product projects.

・Ensure the PM to be close to the market to support new product innovation and competitive products.

■Project Management:

・Manage the local project managers to drive in an efficient way dedicated new product projects according to the product development process. Ensure the successful implementation of single projects, incorporated with key members from other functions part of the project-team.

■Operational Excellence:

・Hire, train and build R&D capability in Japan in line with the vision and growth plans of the Group

・Ensure the effective use of resources and manage the budget for the Technology Center. Drive the future development of the center in a successful way.

・Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

・Report regularly to the CTO on the status of projects, initiatives, and departmental performance.

・Driving necessary regional cooperations to ensure the ongoing competitiveness

■Team Development:

・Mentor and develop the skills of managers and their teams, fostering a high-performance environment.

・Promote professional growth opportunities and ensure the team remains up to date with technological advancements.

・Develop our talents in line with the technological roadmap of industry and company
応募資格

【必須(MUST)】

●外資系経験
●Minimum of 15 years of experience in a technology leadership role within the power tools or related electro mechanical consumer or industrial products.
●Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
●Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
●Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
●Fluent in English and Japanese is required.
