(Immediately after hiring) ■PURPOSE/SUMMARY: This position is part of the Infection Prevention Center of Excellence (IP CoE) in the Endoscopic Solutions Division and manages the portfolio of projects (e.g., portfolio rollup, processes, business systems, and training projects) in line with the global IP CoE strategic plans. The Global Senior Manager is responsible for governing the progress of IP initiatives globally. In addition, the incumbent will develop new initiatives, strategies and charters, supporting executing teams, managing stakeholder across Olympus Functions & Business Units globally, and escalate issues with mitigation actions to executive mgmt. The Global Senior Manager reports directly to Global Vice President, Infection Prevention Center of Excellence and is a critical member of Program Management Office (PMO). The individual leads cross-functional teams including internal/external business stakeholders within Olympus Medical (ESD and TSD), QARA, Medical and Scientific Affairs, and the broader Olympus organization as appropriate. ■PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ・Establishes and manages the global Project Management Office (PMO) tasked with implementing a management framework, standardized processes and tools to enable a best practice approach to execute IP CoE’s project portfolio. ・Defines new IP initiatives (scope & timeline), prioritize initiatives, propose project structure and allocation of resources to support executing team ・Engages with teams to support on IP initiatives, problem-solving & facilitation of expertise by involving IP specialists and facilitate cross-functional collaboration on execution ・Governs and tracks progress, reports and escalates issues to exec. mgmt. with proposed mitigation actions; owns IP roadmap & tracking tool for all Olympus' IP initiatives ・Reports and escalate issues to the IP SteerCo with proposed mitigation actions with CoE Leadership ・Collaborates with the IP CoE leadership team to triage short-term and long-range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals; leveraging technology; ensuring training delivery and compliance across all functional areas ・Collaborates with divisional and departmental leaders, project sponsors, project managers, process owners/leads (as well as key regional and or corporate business stakeholders) to manage, prioritize and maintain the portfolio IP CoE projects and initiatives (e.g., includes management of budget, resource capacity, and risk). ・Develops and implements a customer centric model of project support that conveys understanding of the voice of the customer (i.e., comments and questions of others) through the development of effective relationships by understanding the agenda and perspectives of others; recognizing and balancing the interest and needs of one’s own group with those of the broader organization. ・Builds an effective team of business process, business systems, training delivery, and change management roles to effectively implement and lead organizational changes. ・Develops and manages global PMO processes ensuring project management best practices are identified and shared across Business Units (BU) and regions. ・Organizes and leads project teams and working groups on key strategic projects, including managing teams in global regions ・Other duties as assigned. 【Type of Employment】 Full-time(Probationary period : 3 month, no changes in compensation and benefits during this period.) 【Working Hours】 8:45 AM~5:30 PM (Break time:45 minutes) Standard working hours: 8 hours Flexible working hours available /no core hours(Excludes managerial positions) ※Reduced working hours available. ※Remote work available. Note: These conditions may change depending on the nature of the work. Frequency of commuting to the office: 2~3 times/week Business trips: domestic and international travel 20%, including weekend and evening travel as needed. 【Holidays/Leaves】 ・Holidays:Sundays, some Saturdays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays (December 30 to January 4), two summer holidays, and other days designated by the Company Annual holidays: 129 days (based on the company calendar) Paid leave*: 20 days of annual paid leave granted. ※The number of paid leave days in the first year will vary depending on the month of joining (up to 20 days). ※It is also possible to take paid leave in hourly increments (with certain conditions). Parental and Maternity Leave: Available (Parental leave utilization rate in FY2022: 94% for women※1, 70.2% for men) Special Leave: For marriage, childbirth, bereavement, relocation, etc. Sick Leave Special Leave for Treatment: Granted for diseases that the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare recommends support for, to balance work and treatment. Refresh Plan (Rest and recuperation leave) ※While the parental leave utilization rate for childbirth in the target year is 100%, it is reported as 94% due to postpartum leave being included within the period. 【Salary Range & Allowance】 13M ~ 16M JPY ※Above annual salary is an estimate. The final compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and our company's compensation standards. 【必須(MUST)】 ■EducationRequired: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health policy, life sciences or program management Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration or related field. ■Language Business proficiency in both English and Japanese is required. ■Experience & Skills ・Minimum of 10 years working experience (preferably in functions like program management, sales, marketing, R&D, global business management, etc) ・MedTech experience is preferred to understand the business context ・Experience in the field of Infection Prevention is preferred to engage on content ・Prior experience in establishing and managing a strategic Program Management Office (PMO) and a prior proven track record of significant business process optimization. ・Prior experience in establishing and managing a systems roadmap. ・Formal training in project process management methodologies (e.g., PMP, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and change management preferred, including project change management and personnel transition management. ・Process management expert staying on top of multiple ongoing project, defining project scopes and timelines, engaging with executing team, tracking progress and escalating issues ・Stakeholder and political navigator managing a complex and political stakeholder landscape to most effectively move initiatives forward and enable decision-making ・Strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills are needed to successful engage with teams and advising the executive mgmt. team on IP issues and mitigation actions needed ・Experience in process improvement, issues & conflict management, business-technology innovation and transformation. ・Experience working in a global cross-functional team (functional/matrix) environment and knowledge and/or experience working with groups with varied cultural backgrounds and learning styles is required. ・Track record of successful partnership & collaboration with key stakeholders and business partners. |
